“…and on the eighth day, Slap Maggy rose from the ashes of Aftermath.” Slap Maggy is a good-time band that takes the show just as serious as the music. It’s pretty amazing how these five guys from different bands and other projects found each other. All egos aside, they have the passion, the talent, and the unbridled enthusiasm to bring you a fun and energetic show. Musically, what you can expect at a Slap Maggy show is thunderous locking grooves laid down by drummer Mike Baker and bassist Tommy Haviland, screaming, colorful overtones generated by guitarists Lenny Burkett (a.k.a. Squid), and Lloyd Wallace (a.k. a. Dr. Scary), and pristine lyrical interpretations by lead singer Breck Searle. What you can visually expect from a Slap Maggy show is a collective visual interpretation of each song they play. From high energy to subtle emotion, each song is felt by not just the band, but the audience as well. Due to the fact that each member of Slap Maggy has a favorite style of music, they are able to have an extremely diverse song list. Although they concentrate on such styles as the hair band rock of the ‘80s, and today’s heavier rock, they also have a collection of rock favorites from across the board. With an arsenal like that, they are sure to please anybody at any venue they play. The original songs have been well received also. ATTITUDE CHECK!!! All in all, the Slap Maggy experience is a great time for all. With a high energy show and an extremely diverse song list, Slap Maggy can certainly provide something for everyone in the way of entertainment. Most importantly, they have fun doing it, which makes for a great show. Slap Maggy is a great live entertainment experience. |
