What's Up With
Slap
Maggy
10/30/06
Hello once again Maggy fans!
The time has come once again for the Mixdown! The Battle of the bands at Planet Rock
turned into a popularity contest and we just were not able to get enough of you out
there. We came in third that night which was pretty respectable, but not enough to get
us to the next level. We had a great time, and there was plenty of variety in musical
tastes.
GREAT NEWS!!!
The squid is back, thats right, Lenny has healed up enough to play again. He's working
with his hand everyday, and plans on playing this weekend.
You know what that means! Yup, Planet Rock, Nov 3 and 4!!!
Come rock out with us on one or both of those nights. We will be debuting a couple of
new originals!! Lands End, and Damage. Friday night our special guest is Black Sea
Burial. On Saturday night we have special guest Throttlebody. Can't wait to hang out
with those guys!
As most of you know, we just put out a demo CD with 4 songs on it. You can preview
them on our myspace page. If you are interested in purchasing one, contact me. They
are only $5 (and a couple of bucks for shipping). you can also get them at our shows. I
believe we still have some shirts left, cost on them is $10.
So get up to P. R. this weekend, and feel free to comment on our songs and videos at:

Great News Maggys'
We are happy to inform you that we WON the battle of the bands at the Lone Eagle
Landing!!!!
Thats right, it came down to 5 bands, 3 songs each. The competition was pretty
serious, but so were we. We started with our original "Your Love", then rocked out
"Jane Likes Dick", and then we had to leave you begging for more closing with "Crazy
Bitch". Slap Maggy would like to thank the Lone Eagle Landing, ALL the sponsers that
donated to the cause, and most of all, thankz to all the fans that showed up to support
us! It was a long haul, but well worth it. We will use the winnings to go into the studio to
record at least a demo CD that will be availible soon!
Extremely Bad News has hit Slap Maggy though. Lenny (one lead guitar) had a very
misfortunate accident at work this last Sunday. He sliced his hand open and about cut
his thumb off. Our hearts go out to him as he takes time off to recover and regain use
of his thumb. We hope he will be able to make guest appearances at most of the
shows. IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SHOW THE "SQUID" SOME SUPPORT, PLEASE
LEAVE A COMMENT ON OUR MYSPACE PAGE, OR SIGN THE GUEST BOOK ON THE
WEB SITE, OR JUST EMAIL ME AND I WILL BE SURE HE GETS IT!!! All your support
would surely put a smile on his face!!
Although the Squid is temporarily down for the count, the show must go on! Slap Maggy
will be at The Harvey House in Constantine MI on Friday Sept 22 and Saturday Sept 23
with both shows starting at 9:30 bar time. See You There!!!

us win this thing! Thats right---5 bands, 3 songs each
LONE EAGLE LANDING, BATTLE OF THE BANDS, FINAL ROUND!!!!!
We get 3 songs to prove our worth as being one of the best bands in the area. It is an
all ages event (under 18 must be supervised by adult). We are the third band to play,
but with only 3 songs, it will probably go very fast!
We rocked out the Sturgis Toy Run this last weekend. Great to see some of you out
there, and yes what happens at the Toy Run stays at the Toy Run!!!. We went on at
3pm Sat and played til 6pm. Our first set included songs from Ted Nugent, Black
Sabbath, Seven Mary Three and Alice in Chains, just to name a few. Our second set
included songs by Megadeth, Ratt, Buckcherry, Pantera and Staind, also just to name a
few. Our originals went over very well also. We had a great time with Steel Kitty (2nd
band) and The Instigators closing out the night.
Slap Maggy and Steel Kitty would like to thank:
Jeff Tanner for running sound all weekend,
Kevin for being the roadie/beer delivery guy
Todd and Penny for BEER!!!/beer delivery guy

As some of you remember, we played to a standing room only crowd at the Hilcrest Bar
& Grill as 107.7 WRKR appeared to get last minute registrations for the Rocker Classic
Car. That weekend was insane! The Rocker Morning Show pluged us a few times
before the show, and could not stop talking about it for about 2 weeks after the show!!
We had a great time with Mike McKelly and Warren Kluck and the rest of the Rocker
staff that was present. At one point, we brought Kluck and Ramone (an intern) up on
stage, and they helped us out singing Jackyl's "Down on Me". It was a great time, and
we hope that it will happen again real soon. That show marked the beginning of a
unwanted, but needed, 6 week break.
Ahh, it has finally happened!! We are coming back from our 6 week break!! The rest
of July is busy, busy, busy! We are starting out with a Battle of the Bands at the Lone
Eagle Saloon in Sturgis on Thursday 7/13 at 8:30 pm. We will only play for about a half
hour, but it will be an intense half hour! The next night we will be back to Hilcrest Bar
and Grill for a full show starting at 9:30pm. Sat, 7/15, we will be back to the Lone Eagle
Saloon at 7:00 - 8:00pm for the Toy Run Jam, then haulin back to Hilcrest to finish the
night starting at 9:30! What a weekend!
The Lone Eagle Saloon is a couple of miles north of Sturgis on M66 and Hilcrest is just
east of Sturgis on US12.
So pick a time or two, grab a DD and get to one or both of these places to party with
Slap Maggy! We gaurantee, you won't regret it!!!
06/04/06 News Desk.......
WOW!!! What a weekend! The show at the Hillcrest was great fun as usual. The guys
from WRKR a blast!! Warren and Ramone joined us onstage for "Down On Me" and the
place was full to the point of standing room only. Mike McKelly introduced us and did a
couple of break spots between sets to get everyone fired up. It was a really good time.
Monday morning, the 107.7 morning show crew had a lot of good things to say about
the Hillcrest as well as Slap Maggy. They also read Mike's email on the air expressing
how much fun we had and thanking them for such a good time. We really look forward
to working with them in the future.
Just as important as the Hillcrest and WRKR are the people that were there both Friday
and Saturday. You are what makes our shows such a great time. Slap Maggy thanks all
of you.
'Till next time.........
Tommy

SLAP MAGGY MOMENTS 6/1/06
Ahh, Yes!!!
Along comes another email from your favorite band!!!!
A week and a half ago we played at Planet Rock as an opening act for Hard
Core Porn on Friday night and Black Sea Burial on Saturday. We had a few
problems on Fri, trying to get used to someone else's gear is hard to do. But Sat
night we rocked the house, and we were told they'd like to have us back
again!!! Looking forward to that!!!
Coming up this Friday and Saturday, June 2nd and 3rd, Bob has invited us
back to Hillcrest. Friday night is going to be great fun for everyone, WRKR is
going to have the Classic Car there from 8 to 10 with music brought to you by
non other than the legendary Slap Maggy!!!! Friday promises to be tons of
people and sat will be another great time!!!
Been checking out slapmaggy.com lately??? You should! Tommy has added
some awesome s**t to the site. We now have some video footage of our original
songs recorded at planet rock earlier this month. They all start at the same
time, it is a problem we are looking into. But for now, just be patient and stop
the two that you are not watching and continue the one you want to view.
Also, we now have T-shirts for sale at our shows. Were selling them for $10 at
the gigs and $10 plus shipping for anyone that can't get to the show. If you are
interested in one, please let me know at mike@slapmaggy.com and we can
make the arrangements!!!
We have more gigs coming up if you want to check them out you can do it
where??
