Lloyd Wallace
"Dr.Scary"
I have been playing in various bands for the past 20 years, most
currently in Stone Monkey and now Slap Maggy. At the present time we
are playing the local circuit and working on originals. I have been a
member of such bands as; Groove Tribe, an “A” circuit band that
traveled extensively throughout the Southeastern United States, Gypsy
Rose, Jack the Ripper and the Ozzy tribute bad Mr. Crowley, which is
considered a national touring act.
Being a member of these various bands has allowed me to travel quite
extensively including these states; Michigan, Ohio, Iowa, Kentucky,
Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, New York, West Virginia, The Carolinas,
Alabama, Louisiana, and Missouri. I have also played in St. Thomas, U.
S. Virgin Islands.
While playing in St. Thomas, my demo was played by the local radio
station. They received many complimentary calls after it was aired.
I have had the privilege of opening for the Bullet Boys while in Groove
Tribe. I also jammed onstage with the guitar player and keyboard player
from .38 Special while in Atlanta. The bass player from Jackyl also sat in
with us while in Atlanta as well.
I also sing lead and backing vocals. Most of the high harmony you hear
in Slap Maggy is usually me. In high school I played saxophone in the
jazz band. I have also played a little bass as well as keyboards.
I have devoted many hours of practice and have sacrificed many things
in my life to my guitar playing so I can learn new techniques and be the
best I can be. Slap Maggy is the perfect portal for my musical expression.
